Applications Available for Andrew Bryan Farnen Fund for Gifted and Talented Youth

The Andrew Bryan Farnen Fund for Gifted and Talented Youth, a component fund of the Community Foundation of Washington County MD, announces the availability of applications for its annual grant to a high school or college student with a strong desire to learn and create through the visual arts, musical performance, mathematics or computer science/technology. This grant of $2,175 will help with the purchase of musical instruments, art supplies, computers, books and other educational materials.Andrew’s family created this fund in memory of him and his love of both the arts and sciences. They hope this grant will help students explore their passion for knowledge, artistic expression, mathematics or computer science/technology.Applicants must be between the ages of 14 and 21 on October 1st of this year and live in Maryland, with preference given to those residing in Washington, Frederick, Carroll, Howard or Baltimore Counties. A qualifying fiscal agent will disburse the grant funds upon receiving qualifying estimates, quotes or expense receipts.Online applications due December 1, 2019.
