Community Foundation Awards Funds to Three Hancock Nonprofit Organizations

The Community Foundation recently distributed funds to three Hancock nonprofit organizations. Distributions were made from funds celebrating past People’s Choice Award winners. Mayor Dan Murphy received three checks totaling over $900 to benefit the Hancock Historical Society chosen by Robert McCusker in 2006, the Hancock Boy Scouts designated by Daniel Fleming in 2007 and the Hancock Christmas for Others program selected by Dan and Deb Murphy in 2010.The Community Foundation’s annual People’s Choice Awards honors individuals or couples who work tirelessly to improve the quality of life in Washington County through selfless volunteerism. The winners select a nonprofit organization as the beneficiary of an endowment in their name. The 2016 People’s Choice Awards will take place on November 10 at Saint James School.
