Community Foundation Hosts Fourth Washington County Gives

The Community Foundation will host its fourth Washington County Gives on May 3, 2016 from midnight to midnight. This 24-hour online, social-media fundraiser gives local nonprofits an opportunity to raise unrestricted dollars for their organization. In addition to the online donations, participating nonprofits will have the opportunity to receive pro-rated matching dollars and prize money.Registration for Washington County Gives starts December 18, 2015, and ends February 29, 2016. Any nonprofit organization (other than a church, mosque, temple or private foundation) in Washington County, MD, with a 501(c)(3) IRS determination letter can participate in this online event. To register, nonprofit organizations have to complete an online registration form at www.washingtoncountygives.org, a Memorandum of Understanding and return their registration payment by February 29. Nonprofit organizations with paid staff have a fee of $250, while organizations with volunteer staff have a fee of $50. The Foundation will hold an early bird registration to give two nonprofit organizations the chance to win back their registration fee if they sign-up and complete all forms and payment by January 14, 2016.Community Foundation’s Director of Communications Ally Sirbaugh said, “Since this is our fourth year for Washington County Gives, we decided to change things up a bit. We have added some new prizes and plan to hold a celebratory event on May 4 to announce event totals. We hope these changes will not only entice new nonprofits to participate, but keep returning nonprofits engaged.”Washington County Gives logo
