Community Foundation Welcomes Two New Board Members

The Community Foundation of Washington County MD recently elected Mitesh Kothari, M.D. and Michael Zampelli as its two newest board of trustee members.Kothari-Zamp-linkedin Mitesh Kothari, M.D., has worked as a physician in obstetrics and gynecology at Capital Women’s Care in Hagerstown since 1999, currently serving as a managing member. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in biology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1991 and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1995. Dr. Kothari completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Maryland Medical Center in 1999. He previously served on the Community Foundation Board of Trustees for 12 years and is a past chairman. Dr. Kothari is currently chairman of the Greater Hagerstown Committee and a board member of the Meritus Healthcare Foundation and the Bank of Charlestown.Michael Zampelli has been the COO at Associated Radiologists, P.A. in Hagerstown for eight years. He graduated from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting. In addition to the Community Foundation, Michael also serves on the board of directors for Horizon Goodwill Industries, Central Maryland Region of Fulton Bank and Washington County Board of Zoning Appeals.Leaving the Community Foundation Board of Trustees this year after many years of devoted service are Douglas Fiery, owner of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home; John Itell, CPA, CVA, past board of trustee chairman and managing partner at Albright Crumbacker Moul & Itell, LLC and Stuart Mullendore, vice president marketing & general services at HBP, Inc. “Thank you to these board members for their years of dedication and the tremendous support they have given to the  Community Foundation,” said President/CEO Stacey Crawford. “We are so glad to have Dr. Kothari back on our board, and I look forward to working with Mr. Zampelli.”
