George R. Moore Wildlife Preservation Fund Awarded to The Washington County National Wild Turkey Federation

The Community Foundation of Washington County MD awarded the second annual grant from the George R. Moore Wildlife Preservation Fund to the Washington County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF). George Moore was a farmer and educator who passed away in 2013 in Williamsport. His estate created the George R. Moore Wildlife Preservation Fund to support organizations working to preserve wildlife in the local area.Brian PikerowskiThe Washington County NWTF will use its grant of $1,300 for JAKES Day (Junior Acquiring Knowledge Ethics and Sportsmanship). Held annually at the Izaak Walton League of America in Clear Spring, JAKES Day is a free program for members between the ages of 6-17.
