Jack Roberts Memorial Funds Created at Community Foundation

Jack Roberts’ family created a scholarship and field of interest fund in his memory at the Community Foundation of Washington County MD. Jack passed away in December 2019. He graduated from Smithsburg High School where he ran cross country, indoor and outdoor track and was a member of the National Honor Society. Jack served in Boy Scout Troop 108 in Leitersburg and earned his Eagle Scout rank in 2018. He attended The University of Maryland, College Park as a freshman before transferring to Hagerstown Community College his sophomore year. Jack enjoyed swimming, fishing, canoeing and paddle boarding.Jack RobertsJack’s family created the Jack Roberts Scholarship to honor him and his genuine curiosity for science and passion for learning. This scholarship will award a graduating senior at Smithsburg High School that participated in cross country, indoor track and/or outdoor track. Scholarship applications are open now through April 6.The Jack Roberts Field of Interest Fund will support initiatives for teen and adolescence mental health and suicide prevention.Donations may be made in Jack’s memory to the Community Foundation at 37 S.
