Jacob Young Receives Bill Dorsey Scholarship for the Barbara Ingram School

Barbara Ingram School for the Arts high school junior Jacob Young received this year’s Bill Dorsey Scholarship for the Barbara Ingram School, a component fund of the Community Foundation of Washington County MD. After winning a People's Choice Award in 2008, Reverend Janice Dorsey named the endowment established in her honor after her late husband; thus, creating the Bill Dorsey Scholarship. This scholarship provides a grant to a student at BISFA to help offset the cost of materials, supplies and other items directly related to their arts discipline.Rob Hovermale-Jacob Young-Ed DorseyJacob Young is a vocalist at BISFA and participates in their Chamber Choir as well as the Maryland State Choir and Washington County’s All-County Choir. For the past two years, he was selected to the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) All-National Honor Ensemble, Mixed Choir for top performing high school musicians in the United States. Jacob also sings in his church choir, takes private vocal lessons and plays the clarinet.
