Legacy Award for Black Excellence Seeking Applicants

 The Legacy Award for Black Excellence, one of the Community Foundation of Washington County’s 400+ funds, is now seeking applicants. Candidates must be African American Washington County high school graduates of all ages who demonstrate leadership qualities and are currently enrolled in college or technical program studies.

This award is intended to provide funding to support educational costs and programming.

Leadership qualities can vary from volunteer work within the community, leading a group of peers or family/community members through a particular challenge, academic leadership, or more.

Last year’s recipient, Airahka Torrecilla, studied psychology at Hagerstown Community College.
