Scholarships Presented at Clear Spring High School

The Community Foundation of Washington County MD recently presented scholarships from the following funds to six seniors at Clear Spring High School:• Monica L. Bowers Memorial Fund of $1,000 to Zoie O’Neal.• Quinn Alec Hoover Legacy Scholarship of $1,000 each to Wesley Ambrose and Hannah Reed.• Walter W. Peterman Scholarship for Science of $700 to Adrian Weller.• Walter W. Peterman Scholarship for Music of $700 to Jennifer Bowers.• George A. Sites Scholarship of $1,800 to Megan Bishop.ClearSpringSchRec-15Zoie O’Neal participated on the tennis team, National Honor Society, Future Educators of America and the varsity cross country team for four years, with two years as team captain. She plans to major in secondary education at a four-year university.Wesley Ambrose played on Clear Spring High School’s football team, serving as co-captain, and has secured a roster spot on Frostburg State University’s football team for the fall. He will major in criminal justice at Frostburg.Hannah Reed was involved in the Art Club, Yearbook, 4-H and Future Farmers of America. She plans to attend West Virginia University and pursue a degree in art education in hopes of becoming an art teacher.Adrian Weller played in the band and participated in his youth group, while also working part-time. He will attend Hagerstown Community College in the fall.Jennifer Bowers was in reflections show choir, a Capella choir, varsity soccer, varsity basketball, and chaplain of SGA. She will attend Towson University and pursue a degree in music education to become a high school teacher one day.Megan Bishop participated in the History Club, National Honor Society, tennis team and soccer team. She plans to obtain her bachelor’s degree in exercise science at a four-year university and then get her doctorate in physical therapy.
