Two Organizations Receive Boonsboro Municipal Grants

The Community Foundation of Washington County MD in partnership with the Boonsboro municipality awarded two Boonsboro 501(c)(3) organizations with a municipal grant. The Boonsboro High School Parent Teacher Student Community Organization (PTSCO) and the First Hose Company of Boonsboro received $750 each as part of a new municipal granting program.Mike Schramm-Cindy Hutchinson-Dr. Sherry Hamilton The PTSCO supports education at Boonsboro High School by fostering relationships among the parents, teachers, students and community. With their grant money, the PTSCO will provide expert speakers to the community focused on important social issues, such as drug use, bullying, sexual assault and depression.The First Hose Company of Boonsboro provides for the safety and welfare of the residents and visitors within the communities they serve from ill effects caused by natural disasters or man-induced threats and hazards. Their Smoke Detector Awareness program goes door-to-door checking on the status and location of smoke detectors in the home.
