Washington County Gives 2021 Brings $567,661 to Community Nonprofits, a Combined $1.1 Million Within Foundation’s Fiscal Year

The Community Foundation of Washington County MD, Inc. announced that Washington County Gives, the 24-hour online giving day, raised $567,661 in donations, matching funds and prizes. The event saw 2,093 unique donors giving to one or more of the 87 participating nonprofit organizations.Cedar Ridge Children’s Home & School, Inc raised the most dollars and were followed by the Maryland Theatre Association, Inc. in second place and Girls Incorporated of Washington County in third. Finishing these twenty-four hours of online giving, by placing in the top ten were Grace Academy, Brooke’s House, Humane Society of Washington County, Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, Maryland Symphony Orchestra, Leadership Washington County, and United Way of Washington County, MD. It presents annual opportunities for Washington County nonprofits to raise unrestricted dollars for their organization. Designed to be an exciting and unifying community effort, Washington County Gives also presents the chance for nonprofits to discover and engage new donors by sharing their mission. $75,000 of this year’s overall amount consists of matching dollars and prizes distributed to participants.“We are blown away at the outpouring of support from businesses and from our participating community sponsors. Since we just had our last Washington County Gives in September of 2020, we weren’t quite sure what to expect.
